On February the 24th, the Rt. Honourable Harold Macmillan, Prime Minister of Great Britain, Mr. Selwyn Lloyd, the Foreign Secretary, Sir Patrick Reilly, the British Ambassador to the U.S.S.R., and other British guests visited the largest research centre -- the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna.
Among those who have arrived with the British party were Frol Koslov, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the U.S.S.R., Andrei Cromyko, the Foreign Minister of the U.S.S.R., Jacob Malik, the Soviet Ambassador to Great Britain, and other Soviet officials.
The British guests were welcomed by Vasily Emelyanov, Associate Member of the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences, Head of the Administration on Atomic Energy Research under the U.S.S.R. Council of Ministers, and Dmitry Blokhintsev, Associate Member of the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences, who's the Director of the Joint Institute.
After an inspection of the laboratories, the management of the Institute gave a lunch in honour of the Prime Minister and the party accompanying him.
