    IN THE MEN'S DOUBLES, PENDER UGHERUGHE AND LEVI OHALE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN WON BY NINE GAMES TO SEVEN AGAINST M.A. SEIDU AND B.M. FROKO OF GHANA UNIVERSITY IN THE FIRST SET. THEY TOOK THE MATCH WHEN THEY WON THE SECOND SET SIX GAMES TO THREE.

    THE WOMEN'S SINGLES WENT TO THREE SETS. MISS SALLY STOCKLEY OF IBADAN UNIVERSITY WON THE FIRST SET, BEATING MISS EDNA OPOKU BY SIX GAMES TO THREE. PLAYING A DETERMINED GAME, MISS OPUKU CAME BACK TO WIN THE SECOND SET BY SIX GAMES TO THREE. HOWEVER THE EXPERIENCE OF MISS STOCKLEY GAVE HER THE EDGE, AND SHE WON THE FINAL SET BY SIX GAMES TO TWO.

    PENDER UGHERUGHE, WHO CLAIMED THE MEN'S DOUBLES TITLE FOR NIGERIA, ALSO WON THE SINGLES TITLE. HE DEFEATED NEIZER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CAPE COAST IN TWO STRAIGHT SETS.

    NEIZER PLAYED WITH DETERMINATION THROUGHOUT, BUT PENDER UGHERUGHE'S SPEED AND BALL CONTROL WERE TOO MUCH FOR THE GHANIAN. UGHERUGHE TOOK THE TITLE 6-4, 6-1.
