Background: President Joseph Mobutu of Congo-Kinshasa, who is on a six-day official visit to France, left Paris yesterday (Thursday) to visit the French Military Academy of St. Cry, located since 1946 at the town of Coetquidan in Brittany. The visit was the first stage of a tour of the French provinces which was to take the visiting head of state to the Alpine university city of Grenoble and the Dassault aircraft works at Bordeaux.
During his tour of the parade and exercise grounds, the president showed none of the fatigue which had caused him to cancel a press conference the previous day on the progress of his talks with French leaders.
President Mobutu will have a further round of talks with President Pompidou tomorrow (Saturday) the last day of his tour.
