    MR. BOMBOKO HAD SEEN PRESIDENT DE GAULLE YESTERDAY (FRIDAY). HIS VISIT, EXPECTED TO LAST ABOUT A WEEK, HAS COINCIDED WITH THE SIGNING OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN CONGO-KINSHASHA AND BELGIAN MINING COMPANIES OPENING THE WAY TO A RESUMPTION OF COPPER EXPORTS FROM THE CONGO.

    EXPORTS FROM KATANGA, WHICH MAKE A VITAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE NATION'S ECONOMY, WERE SUSPENDED LAST DECEMBER AFTER A DISPUTE BETWEEN THE CONGO GOVERNMENT AND THE UNION MINIERE.
