Background: Elias Daou is said to the world's heaviest child. Elias, who was born in the Ivory Coast almost two years ago weighs sixty-two and a half pounds. His mother, a native of the Ivory Coast, and his father an Upper Voltan, are physically quite normal as is Elias's five year old brother Nouho.
Doctors who have examined Elias are baffled by the child's strange development. Elias weighed a normal eight and a half pounds at birth and has only been fed on his mother's milk. In order to help the child the Prefect and Imam of Abengourou have decided to launch a fund so that young Elias can be sent to either Europe or the United States to see specialists on weight problems.
