TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 3: Goldberg: I have decided to run in the Primary without the benefit of the designation you have given me. I therefore waive it, with all appreciation for those who have done me the honour of designating me; and this will allow all of the candidates for governor, among whom are highly qualified men, to compete on equal terms in the June Primary.

I think it is time in 1970 after all that the country has been through, for the Democratic Party and the State of New York they have a black candidates person of Senator Patterson's qualifications for a stateline office of this magnitude. I endorse Senator Basil Patterson for Lieutenant Governor.

I have a point of order, and I would like can I ask my question-I want an answer.

The delegates are here and present now but that-if we can open the Convention nomination the one we chose whatever his theories may be, no matter what his good intentions he is declined to have our support (SIC) he is making a mockery of our convention. regardless of what he want I have said that in addition to this designation, so as not to take advantage of it I will go the petition route. I had though in making that statement I once for all would get rid of the concept that something was rammed down the throats of the people.
