The convoy carried food and fuel supplies along the Mekong River and was attacked at leat five times by Communist Forces hidden along the river banks.

SYNOPSIS: On the Ton Le Sap river at Phnom Penh, an oil tanker waits to unload supplies for the besieged Khmer capital. The convoy had repeatedly come under attack from Communist forces on the banks as it made its way up the Mekong River.

The fuel supplies are badly needed in the city and a convoy of sixteen vessels including eight oil tankers has just got through. The convoy was also carrying food which is also in short supply in Phnom Penh.

To ensure that once in the capital it remains safe, the fuel is kept under close security and scrutiny.

When the fuel gets to distribution points there are large queues of people waiting for supplies. And then what they can get is closely controlled -- there's very strict rationing in Phnom Penh.

Most people are only carrying a single tin to get their meagre ration.

And standing by all the time to keep an eye on things are the military -- the one group least hard hit by the rationing system.
