Britain's rebel colony, Zimbabwe Rhodesia, will return to legality soon, with the arrival of the newly appointed Governor, Lord Soames. His arrival in Salisbury will bring to an end fourteen years of rebellion against Britain by Zimbabwe Rhodesia's white minority. As Britain and Commonwealth countries prepare to send troops to monitor the pre-election period, a Patriotic Front official in Salisbury has survived a bizarre attempt on his life. The official, Mr. Cephas Msipa, is a member of ZAPU -- the guerrilla group belonging to Mr. Joshua Nkomo which claimed responsibility for shooting down two Air Rhodesia Viscount planes.
SYNOPSIS: One evening, earlier this week (3 December) a shot was fired through Mr. Msipa's bedroom window, narrowly missing his wife. Later an anonymous caller phoned him and asked whether he remembered the Viscount.
