    Background: The Oba (King) of Lagos, who is adviser of Lagos affairs to the Nigerian National Military Government, arrived in London today (Friday) at the start of a four-week visit to Britain.

    The Oba, His Highness Adeyinka Oyekan, arrived with his wife and number of officials who hold traditional offices in his court. The traditional Prime Minister to the Oba, Chief Ishola Jiyabi II, and his War Chief, Chief Fasola Akapo, are both with him. They are members of the caretaker committee of the Lagos City Council. A solicitor of the Nigerian Supreme Court, Mr. Sylvester Mayaki, also arrived with the Oba's party.

    The Nigerian party are guests of the Commonwealth Relations office, and will visit Scotland and several provincial English cities.
