    At Kenitra, Morocco, the trial of 157 Moroccans accused of involvement in an armed subversive movement began on Monday (June 25).

    Among the accused are eight well-known lawyers, all prominent members of the banned socialist opposition party 'Union Nationale des Forces Populaires' (U.N.F.P.). The accused are represented by about 100 lawyers, two of them from Algeria.

    Eight members of the armed forces are also charged. The pro-section displayed sub-machine guns, pistols, ammunition and explosives, said to have been found at the homes of some of the accused. Among the weapons were Kalashnikov rifles made in Czechoslovakia, and United States - made carbines, ammunition and explosives.

    SYNOPSIS: One of the accused admitted planting two bombs at the United Stated diplomatic offices in Casablanca.

    The accused are charged with 'endangering the internal security of the country'. Among the evidence were forty Czechoslovakian made Kalashnikav rifles, ammunition and explosives and U.S. made carbines. They were said t have been taken from the homes of some of the accused.
