The Lobby of Americans will take place during the week of June 7, 1971. It will bring to Washington delegations from organizations and from selected areas of the country to meet with Members of Congress who have not yet declared a position on legislation setting a deadline of December 31, 1971 for complete withdrawal of American military from Indochina.
Each day of the Lobby will include a major speech by Congressional supporters of this legislation, workshops on lobbying techniques and community action to follow the Lobby, and, of course, meetings of participants with their Representatives and Senators.
Enclosed are materials on this program. Included is a schedule of activities for the week and other information. Details will be made available to you as soon as possible on speakers, location of events, participants, etc.
You are welcome to use the enclosed materials in any way you wish. Portions of the information sheets may be quoted and attributed to a spokesman for the Lobby, if desired.
Please feel free to call upon me either by telephone or in person. I will endeavour to keep you informed with up-to-the minute information and will assist you as best I can in your coverage of the activities.
