The year's pick of world beauties has started to arrive in London for the Miss World contest. First to land at London Airport, Oct. 31, was dusky beauty Star Annan, Miss Ghana.
Wearing a magnificent, multi-coloured Kente-Ghanaian national dress of handwoven silk - she walked to the airport building expecting to see the London woman who cared for her during the war. But this African Star was disappointed - her foster mother was unable to get to the airport.
The other 39 shapely contestants will soon be in London for the contest, November 10.
First prize is a Silver trophy, worth GBP500 and a car. The contest is in aid of an RAF benevolent association fund.
