THE STREET IS OFFICIALLY NAMED FOURTH OF JULY AVENUE, AFTER THE U.S. INDEPENDENCE DAY, AND ONE SECTION OF IT WAS RENAMED PRESIDENT KENNEDY AVENUE AFTER MR. KENNEDY WAS ASSASSINATED.

    SUCH SIGNS AS "YANKEE GO HOME" AND OTHERS CALLING AMERICANS "ASSASSINS" AND "KILLERS" HAVE APPEARED IN PANAMANIAN STREETS.
