AT THE SAME TIME A FLEET OF BRITISH JET FIGHTERS AND TRANSPORT PLANES FLEW IN TO NAIROBI. THEY ARE TO ARE TO STAY THERE AWAITING ORDERS TO FLY ON TO ZAMBIA IF PRESIDENT KAUNDA AGREES TO BRITAIN'S CONDITIONS FOR STATIONING THEM THERE.

    MR. BOTTOMLEY DROVE STRAIGHT FROM THE AIRPORT TO PRESIDENT KENYATTA'S RESIDENCE. THE TWO MEN TALKED IN PRIVATE FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. THEN THEY WALKED TOGETHER IN THE PRESIDENT'S GARDEN - AND POSED FOR CAMERAMEN BEFORE MR. BOTTOMLEY WAS WHISKED BACK TO THE AIRPORT TO REJOIN HIS AIRCRAFT.
