    Student demonstrations in Bangkok turned violent yesterday (Sunday) as thousands of young men and women crowded the streets demanding the resignation of the military government. Official buildings were set on fire including the Anti-Corruption Centre run by Colonel Narong Kittikac???orn, son of the Prime Minister. The state lottery building and the Information Department were also set ablaze. For a time the authorities seemed powerless to stop the demonstrators but shortly after this film was taken troops and tanks were called out onto the streets. In the disorders which followed troops fired repeatedly into the crowds, killing between three and 400. King Bhumibol Adulyadej finally broadcast a television appeal for calm. He announced that the Prime Minister, Field Marchal Thanom Kittikac???orn, had resigned to make way for a civilian administration. Latest reports from Bangkok say streets are still full of demonstrating students demanding a new constitution free of army rule and democratic elections.
