    FEDERAL OFFICIALS SPENT SEVEN HOURS ON SUNDAY (24 MAY) RE-ENACTING THE ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT JOHN KENNEDY IN DALLAS, TEXAS. A LIMOUSINE WITH AN AGENT SITTING IN MR. KENNEDY'S SEAT WAS REPEATEDLY DRIVEN PAST THE TEXAS BOOK DEPOSITORY BUILDING FROM WHICH THE FATAL SHOTS WERE FIRED. ANOTHER AGENT, IN THE SIXTH FLOOR WINDOW FROM WHICH LEE HARVEY OSWALD IS ALLEGED TO HAVE FIRED THE SHOTS, PULLED THE TRIGGER OF OSWALD'S RIFLE. ATTACHED TO THE UNLOADED WEAPON WAS A MOTION PICTURE CAMERA.

    THE AGENT SITTING IN MR. KENNEDY'S SEAT WORE A JACKET WITH WHITE CHALK MARKS INDICATING THE SPOTS AT WHICH THE BULLETS STRUCK THE PRESIDENT. ANOTHER AGENT, RIDING IN THE SEAT OCCUPIED BY GOVERNOR JOHN CONNOLLY OF TEXAS, WORE MR. CONNOLLY'S JACKET, COMPLETE WITH BULLET HOLE IN THE UPPER RIGHT REAR SHOULDER. THE ACTION OF THE BOLT OF THE RIFLE SIX STORIES ABOVE WAS CLEARLY AUDIBLE.

    A LOCAL SURVEYOR MAPPED OUT THE ROUTE AND THE TRAJECTORY OF THE BULLETS. SEVERAL AGENTS ON HAND CARRIED SMALL BOOKS CONTAINING PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORDS OF THE ASSASSINATION. STILL OTHERS USED WALKIE TALKIE RADIOS, MOTION PICTURE CAMERAS, STILL CAMERAS, AND NOTEBOOKS.

    THE AGENTS WERE MEMBERS OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION, THE SECRET SERVICE (CHARGED WITH PROTECTING THE PRESIDENT) AND THE WARREN COMMISSION (SPECIAL FEDERAL BODY INVESTIGATING THE ASSASSINATION.) ALL TOLD, THERE WERE NEARLY TWO DOZEN AGENTS ON THE SCENE. TRAFFIC WAS REROUTED AROUND THE AREA WHILE THE RE-ENACTMENT WAS BEING STAGED.
