Background: The Foreign Ministers of the Association of South East Asian nations held a one day meeting yesterday (Thursday) in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. These attending were from Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Matters discussed included relations with North Vietnam and a whole range of questions connected with the political and economic situation in South East Asia following the Vietnam war. A statement at the end of the meeting called for a conference of all nations in the region to serve as a forum for discussing and tackling their common problems.
