Lt. General Ferick Ibrahim Abboud, Prime Minister of Sudan, arrived at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington Wednesday, 4th October for a three-day state visit. President Kennedy was there to greet him.
Full military honours were accorded the 60 year-old premier, who arrived in a Boeing 707 jet airliner on loan from the U.S. Government. Premier Abboud, who took control of the Sudan on 18th November, 1958, has served as President of the Supreme Council of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Minister of Defense, in addition to his duties as Prime Minister. Shortly after his arrival he was expect to meet Ambassadors of the Arab countries in Washington.
President and Mrs. Kennedy will hold a state dinner at the White House in Premier Abboud's honour, Wednesday night 4th October.
