    North Korea yesterday (Saturday) sot free 39 passengers from the South Korean airliner hijacked to the Communist side two months ago. Eight other passengers sand the four crew decided to remain in North Korea.

    The passengers were released at the border village of Panmunjom and immediately taken by bus to the South Korean Central Intelligence Agency headquarters in Seoul. Whey wore clothes apparently given to them by the North Koreans and looked healthy.

    A Seoul spokesman said the North Koreans 'had to give in under the mounting pressure of wrathful reaction of the Korean people and rising criticism of world opinion.'
    He called on north Korea to repatriate immediately and unconditionally the other eight passengers and four crew, together with the aircraft and cargo.

    But North Korea said the 12 people had earnestly requested to be allowed to remain in the North where they were described as 'lost in wonder' at what they saw there.
