President Alejandro Lanusse who is also commander-in-chief of the army, Brigadier Carlos Alberto Rey and Admiral Guido Coda called on the president-elect to discuss guerrilla activities.

In a brief statement following the meeting. Dr Campora expressed the hope that the pacification of the nation will be complete when his government takes over on May 25th after seven years of military rule. He told the military leaders the armed forces must then be 'subordinated to the national authorities'.

Dr. Campora has just returned form consultations in Madrid with his political counsellor, former President Juan Peron.

SYNOPSIS: Argentina's President-elect Dr. Hector Campra discussed internal security with the three military leaders at his Buenos Aires home on Wednesday.

He was joined by Vice-President Elect Senor Vicente Solann Lima.

Then, Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force, Brigadier Carlso Alberto Rey.

He was followed by the outgoing President Alejandro Lanusse, commander-in-Chef of Army, and Admiral Guido Coda.

They discussed recent urban guerrilla activities. Since the assassination of a retired Rear-Admiral at the end of April, martial law and severe press censorship had been imposed in Buenos Aires and five provinces. Dr. Campora said the military leaders were concerned with the upsurge of violence in the country in recent weeks. They informed the President-elect of what they described as the activities of extremists guided by purposes of subversion.

Until this meeting, Dr. Campora had refused all invitations to see the men who now head the military government which has ruled Argentina for nearly seven years. An urban guerrilla group claimed responsibility for the assassination which prompted martial law. Another retired admiral is still held by the guerrillas.

Afterwards, Dr. Campora and Senor Lima walked among their supporters, and a statement was issued hoping that the pacification of the nation would be complete when their government took over on May 25th. It stated that the armed forces must be subordinated to the national authorities.
