THE MOROCCAN INFORMATION MINISTRY HAVE BLAMED FOREIGN INSTIGATORS FOR THE RIOTING, WHICH BEGAN ON TUESDAY AS STUDENT DEMONSTRATIONS AGAINST A TEN PER CENT CUT IN THE EDUCATION MINISTRY BUDGET.

IN THE PARIS DEMONSTRATION, SOME OF THE STUDENTS MOVED INTO THE CONSULATE BUILDING, BUT AFTER THREE HOURS WERE PERSUADED TO LEAVE. A STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE STUDENT'S LEADER SAID THEY WANTED TO EXPRESS THEIR SOLIDARITY WITH "THE MARTYRS OF THE FASCIST REPRESSION" AND THEIR UNEQUIVOCAL OPPOSITION TO MOROCCAN GOVERNMENT POLICY. THE DEMONSTRATION BROKE UP PEACEFULLY, AND THERE WERE NO ARRESTS.
