Background: 1st Royal Bershire Regiment came to Cyprus from Malta early last December. They had recently returned from service in Malaya and were due to Germany when they diverted to Malta as a result the Suez action. This week (ending 27.7.1957) has been Regiman for Berks, their first in Cyprus and probably last as a regimen to amalgamation with Wilts. The ceremony was held in the Nicosia between walls of old city and new.
