Faced once with the problem of what to do with his dog when taking a vacation, Major Hawkins. M.C., late of the Royal Artillery, hit upon the idea of opening an hotel exclusively for dogs.
So enthusiastically was his idea received, that the "Dog's Hotel" in Dublin, Eire, is continually expanding the canine's quarters and facilities.
New guests and owners are greeted by a notice reading "Have you got your luggage, blankets, pills etc." A fully experienced kennel maid takes the dog from its owner and, after a very thorough examination by Major Hawkins, taken to its reserved kennel. All kennels bear the names of famous hotels.
In the Hotel kitchens, meals are prepared from favourite menu's left by the owner. Another facility is a magnificently equipped beauty salon.
