The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al Salem Sabah, flew to Rabat on Saturday (September 15) at the start of a four-day Moroccan visit. A warm welcome was led by the visiting leader's host, King Hassan.
After meeting other Moroccan leaders, the Emir was acclaimed by large crowds as he drove through the streets of the city. Bedsides political talks, the tour will include visits to the cities of Casablanca, Fez and the seaside resort and industrial complex at Mohammedia.
SYNOPSIS: At Rabat airport, Moroccan leaders headed by King Hassan waited to greet the Emir of Kuwait on Saturday. The Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Salem Sabah, was arriving at the start of a four-day official visit as a guest of king Hassan.
The Emir , first off the aircraft, had just completed a visit to Tunisia. His official party included his Foreign Minister and acting Information Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed As Sabah, as well as members of his suite whom he presented to King Hassan.
Just before the arrival, the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Morocco had said that the visit reflected the consolidation in relations between the two countries. He added that the meeting of the two sovereigns was a further proof of the determination of the Arab peoples to fulfil the aims to which they aspired.
After the airport welcome, the Emir was to receive a big welcome when he drove with King Hassan through the crowded streets of Rabat. His four-day stay was to include visits to the cities of Casablanca and Fez, and to the seaside resort and industrial complex at Mohammedia. He was also to be guest of honour at a banquet given by King Hassan.
