    THE FOURTH TEST BETWEEN THE WEST INDIES AND AUSTRALIA AT BRIDGETOWN ENDED IN A DRAW YESTERDAY (TUESDAY) AFTER THE WEST INDIES FAILED BY ONLY 11 RUNS TO TOP THE AUSTRALIAN AGGREGATE OF 825.

    THE WEST INDIES WERE SET THE TASK OF SCORING 650 IN THE FIRST INNINGS TO MATCH THE AUSTRALIAN TOTAL. HOWEVER, WITH A SCORE OF 573 THEY AVOIDED A FOLLOW ON,
    AUSTRALIA'S SECOND INNINGS WAS CLOSED BY THE CAPTAIN, BOB SIMPSON AT 4 FOR 175, LEAVING THE WEST INDIES TO SCORE 253 IN 270 MINUTES TO WIN.

    THE MAINSTAY FOR THE WEST INDIES IN THE FIRST INNINGS WAS NURSE ON 201. HE WAS CAUGHT BY SIMPSON OFF A BALL FROM HAWKE.

    SOBERS MADE 55 BEFORE BEING CAUGHT BY THE WICKETKEEPER GROUT OFF MCKENZIE.

    HENDRIKS LEFT THE FIELD AFTER SCORING ONLY FOUR WHEN HE WAS STRUCK BY A BALL. HALL WENT FOR THREE, CAUGHT BY SIMPSON OFF HAWKE. IT WAS SIMPSON'S FOURTH CATCH AND THE SECOND HE TOOK OFF HAWKE.

    GRIFFITH KNOCKED UP 54 BEFORE BEING RUN OUT.

    IN ALL, SEVEN WEST INDIES WICKETS WERE TAKEN FROM CATCHES IN THE FIRST INNINGS.

    ALTHOUGH THE WEST INDIES DID NOT QUITE SUCCEED IN WINNING THE FOURTH TEST THEY HAVE WON THE TEST SERIES. AFTER FOUR MATCHES THE WEST INDIES HAVE WON TWO, AND TWO HAVE BEEN DRAWN.
