    INDIA, YUGOSLAVIA AND THE UNITED ARAB REPUBLIC YESTERDAY (MONDAY) STARTED TOP-LEVEL TALKS IN NEW DELHI AIMED AT SECURING STRONGER ECONOMIC TIES BETWEEN THE THREE COUNTRIES.

    REPRESENTING THEIR GOVERNMENT'S AT THE TALKS ARE THE INDIAN MINISTER OF COMMERCE, MR. MANUBHAI SHAH, THE U.A.R. MINISTER FOR ECONOMY AND FOREIGN TRADE, MR. HASSAN ABBAS ZAKI, AND A MEMBER OF THE YUGOSLAV CABINET, MR. ALEKSANDER GRLICKOV.

    THEY ARE CONSIDERING POSSIBLE JOINT CAPITAL VENTURES, INCREASED TRADE AND CO-OPERATION IN TRANSPORT, TOURISM AND OTHER FIELDS.

    IN HIS OPENING SPEECH, MR. ZAKI RECALLED THAT A UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE TWO YEARS AGO URGED DEVELOPING COUNTRIES TO BUILD ECONOMIC TIES AMONG THEMSELVES. MR. GRLICKOV SAID THAT YUGOSLAVIA PLANNED TO START AN IMPORTANT LIBERALISATION PROGRAMME NEXT MONTH.

    THE TALKS ARE A FOLLOW-UP TO THE SUMMIT MEETING BETWEEN THE THREE NATIONS IN NEW DELHI IN OCTOBER.
