Background: Thousands of tourists were drawn to Honolulu, Hawaii, Oct 16-22, for the colourful celebration called "Aloha Week". The celebrations ended with a parade of floats through the streets, graced by the 'King and Queen' of "Aloha Week."
Most of the floats showed scenes of the Hawaiian way of life, exhibiting the customs and crafts of the islanders. A model village was constructed in the city so tourists could get an idea of the way islanders live in the more remote areas.
