SOUND EFFECTS. SV Mr. Churchill speaks:- "But somehow or other I never had the same feeling, no not even in the war - as I have now that the whole future of our Country is hanging in the balance. (Applause)
GV Mr. Churchill speaks:- "I ask therefore, for a substantial & solid majority to bring to an end this period of unavoidable but mischievous party strife, to let the Nation get on with its work with the least possible interference."
SV Mr. Churchill continues:- "We have not lost faith in our race & in our destiny. We are the same people, in the same Island as we were in the great days we can all remember. Our spirit is unconquerable, our ingenuity & craftsmanship unsurpassed. Our latent resources are unmeasured. Our underlying Unities are enduring. We have but to cast away by an effort of will the enfeebling tendencies & fallacies of Socialism & free ourselves from Socialist rule & then to stand erect once more & take our place among the great Powers of the world. Never shall we fail in exertion & resolve." (Applause 4ft)
