  • Description

Rhodesian nationalist leader, the Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole, had decried fears of a civil war among rival black factions if the country is given over to black majority rule. Reverend Sithole has been the subject of unconfirmed reports that Prime Minister Ian Smith is seeking to establish a settlement with him in the face of claims to power by exiled nationalists. He told a reporter in Salisbury, the Rhodesian capital, that an established black government would soon be able to establish an authority that people would recognise. He was also asked if reports of fighting for power among exiled nationalist leaders worried him.
