A French driver, Mr. Gil Delamare, for the past week has been demonstrating to people in Copenhagen how to crash a car at high speed - and survive.
Mr. Delamare's demonstrations are being held in conjunction with a motor display in the Danish capital.
During his daring stunt drives, Mr. Delamare wears a safety belt and a crash helmet. In the past week he has demonstrated seven types of accidents, each one involving a crash at nearly 75 m.p.h. (112 km.p.h.)
In the week, the 40-year-old Frenchman has wrecked or seriously damaged has wrecked or seriously damaged more than 120 cars.
Mr. Delamare's driving may look easy, but it requires skill and split-second judgement. The organisers of the demonstration have paid the driver a fee of GBP2,000 Stg. for crashing the cars.
