Background: During the period 27 July - 1 August 1967 the joint U. S. Navy-Army Mobile Riverine Force, consisting of the Navy's River Assault Florida One and elements of the Army's 9th Infantry Division, moved from their South Vietnam operating position at the junction of the Soi Rap and Van Co Rivers to Dong Tam on the My Tho River. Included in the movement were two self-propelled Barracks Ships, a Repair Ship, a Landing Ship Tank (EST), Command Communications Boats, Armoured Troop Carrier and Monitor Gun Boats. From the new location, the water borne for??? is conducting riverine strike operations near My Tho, 70 miles southwest of Saigon.

Craft of River Assault Flotilla On are providing troop lift, blocking force, and gunfire support ??? ??? Division Army units in the combined U.S. Navy/U.S. Army operation in Dinh Tuong Province in the Mekong Delta. Medical Evacuation (MEDVAC) is carried out by Armoured Troop Carriers and helicopters.
