    SENTENCE WAS PASSED TODAY (WEDNESDAY) BY THE CORRECTIONAL COURT AT NAMUR ON 18 PEOPLE ACCUSED OF OFFENCES IN BELGIUM CONNECTED WITH THE FRENCH SECRET ARMY ORGANISATION OAS. CHARGES INCLUDED CARRYING AND STORING WEAPONS, GIVING FALSE NAMES, CAR THEFT, AND AIDING FOREIGNERS.

    TWO OF THE ACCUSED - TWO FRENCH GIRLS - WERE ACQUITTED AND DISCHARGED. SIX PEOPLE WERE SENTENCED IN ABSENCE. AMONG THOSE WHO APPEARED IN COURT WERE FOUR BELGIANS, TWO FRENCH, TWO SWISS, ONE ALGERIAN, AND A SPANIARD.

    THEY WERE SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT OF ONE TO 5 1/2 MONTHS AND FINES UP TO GBP50. FOR THE BELGIAN PRISONERS, THE SENTENCES OF IMPRISONMENT WERE SUSPENDED.
