• Short Summary

Dr. Djuanda, probably the last Prime Minister of Indonesia with the advent of President Soekarno's?

  • Description

Dr. Djuanda, probably the last Prime Minister of Indonesia with the advent of President Soekarno's "guide democracy" ruled by a presidential-type cabinet, urges July 3 Indonesia's police to remain loyal as guardians of life and property, at this review in Kebajoran, Djakarta, to celebrate Police Day.

The Police standard is brought in a jeep to the Police H.Q. Parade Ground escorted by mobile brigade troops, for the review held for the renewal of oath. Women police in their smart uniforms are on parade too as the Major in charge of the parade salutes with his sabre and rime Minister Dr. Djuanda Kartawidjaja stands at attention. General R.S.Soekanto, General Officer commanding the Indonesian Police, salutes.

The Indonesian police, has played a vital role in the maintenance of law and order in the state often rent by political dissentions, social unrest and internal rebellion.

The formal ceremonies over, the mobile brigade provide the escort for the police standard. They are followed by police officials from the Djakarta headquarters - another proud day for the young Indonesian Police Force still grappling with the problems of a comparatively new nation.
