    SIHANOUK: "First of all, may I point out that I am not quite sure that the decision about Cambodia and the Vietnam-Cambodian war inside the Security Council will really take place since it appears that the USSR and Vietnam -- and Czechoslovakia -- the USSR and Czechoslovakia -- which are supporting Vietnam against us. We are fighting to mae such a meeting at present impossible."



    SIHANOUK:"The Vietnamese invaders are occupying all our towns except two. We are still in Battambang near Thailand and you know the famous temples of Angkor, north Cambodia, near the Thailand frontier. ..And we are naturally masters of the jungles and the mountains. We have there many guerrilla bases and from those bases we launch counter-attacks."



    According to Reuters news agency, Prince Sihanouk was dispatched to Peking from the Kampuchean capital, Phnom Penh by Pl Pt shortly before they city fell to Vietnamese-backed insurgents. The Prince spent the war years from 1970 to 1975 in Peking and was removed as titular Head of State in April 1976. For the past three years he and his family had been living under house arrest. At a news conference in Peking on Monday (8 January) Reuters say he made it plain that he had little sympathy for the internal policies of the Kampuchean communists under Pol Pot.

During a three hour stopover in Tokyo. Japan, on his way to the United States from Peking, the Prince spoke to newsmen. He said that the would like China to provide military supplies and financial aid to the forces of the Pol Pot Government, whom he alleges are now entrenched in mountain guerrilla bases in the Kampuchean countryside. Prince Sihanouk spoke about the relationship of the United Nations with the Cambodian conflict.

    Prince Sihanouk also referred to the military situation.

    In conclusion the Prince said he did not need material support from the United States.
