    Mid-field star George Graham scored his first goal of the season to inspire Arsenal as they fought for their first home win over Leeds United at Highbury in London this afternoon (Saturday, 11 September).

    Arsenal's second goal came in the second half when Leeds star Paul Reaney tripped Arsenal's Kennedy as he tried to turn for a shot at goal. Peter Storey took the penalty and Arsenal held their 2-nil lead until the end.

    SYNOPSIS: In London on Saturday, last season's double champions Arsenal met their great rivals Leeds United and once again it was to be Arsenal's day. John Radford--Arsenal's number nine--had a particularly good day. Ten minutes before the interval. Arsenal went into the lead with a good goal by George Graham. The score stayed at one nil to Arsenal at half time.

    In the second half, Arsenal went further into the lead when Kennedy was tripped in the penalty area and the referee had no hesitation in awarding the penalty. Peter Story took the kick. The final result, Arsenal two, Leeds United nil.
