    Background: The Greek destroyer 'Nike' bearing the body of Prince George of Greece who died in France last week, arrived this afternoon (december 1) in Piraeus from Toulon.

    The late Prince's son and son in law, Prince Peter and Prince Torre Tasso accompanied the coffin while his widow, Princess Maria Bonaparte, arrived by air to Athens.

    The bier will lie in state at Athens Cathedral until Wednesday December 4, when the funeral will take place.

    King Paul and Queen Frederika, the Greek Royal Family, Princess Torre Tasso, daughter of the late Prince, Princess Eugenie of Greece and her children, Princess Rene of Bourbon Parme, Prince Michael of Greece, Princess Axel of Denmark, Prince and Princess Vigo, Count and Countess Rosenberg were among the dignitaries awaiting the disembarkation of the bier.

    Greek President Karamanlis and his entire cabinet, Military and church officials, together with thousands of ordinary people also waited in the snow and sleet at the quay side.
