WHILE THE STUDENTS WERE HELPING CLEAN UP THE DEBRIS THEY AND THEIR FELLOW DEMONSTRATORS HAD LEFT IN THE STREETS, SOME INDIGNANT COUNTER-DEMONSTRATORS HAVE BEEN MEETING TO DENOUNCE THE STUDENTS AS "HOOLIGANS". LEADING NEWSPAPERS HAVE ALSO CRITICISED THE STUDENTS, WHILE THE POLISH VETERANS' ORGANISATION TODAY CALLED FOR PUNISHMENT OF THOSE WHO, IT SAID, WERE LEADING ASTRAY THE YOUTH OF THE COUNTRY.

THE WARSAW STUDENTS, WHOSE FIRST CLASH WITH MILITIA FOLLOWED A DEMONSTRATION AGAINST THE CLOSING OF PLAY CONTAINING ANTI-RUSSIAN LINES, ATTENDED CLASSES AS USUAL TODAY. AT ONE LARGE MEETING AT THE WARSAW POLYTECHNIC, A GROUP OF STUDENT PASSED A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE RELEASE OF ALL ARRESTED STUDENTS AND PUNISHMENT FOR THOSE WHO CALLED IN THE MILITIA TO DEAL WITH THE DEMONSTRATORS.
