    Queen Elizabeth, accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, drove to the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, July 6, to open the recently restored Flamsteed House. On arrival the Queen was greeted by the Mayor of Greenwich. Councillor H.A. Tatman, and Minister of Works Lord John Hope.

    Flamsteed House is the oldest section of the former Royal Observatory. The Royal visitors inspected the work of restoration and the Queen viewed the London skyline through a telescope in the Octagon Room. The Queen accepted a picture of the Royal Yacht Britannia, presented by the Dutch Ambassador for the Dutch Society of Marine Artists.

    When they left Flamsteed House the Royal couple drove to the Royal Naval Collage in Greenwich.
