Background: Holidaymakers have already started to come to the Africana Vacation Village - a resort at Kunduchi Beach, just north of Dar Es Salaam.
The village is still under construction, but when completed, it will be the world's first all fibre-glass hotel.
Guests stay in fibre-glass huts which are constructed on the spot. The workshop is a huge cathedral-like tent, kept inflated by compressed air.
Vacation Village is part of an attempt by the Tanzanian government to develop a tourist circuit in the southern part of the country. The facilities they want to see built include beach hotels and game parks.
The Mlonot Investment company of Tel Aviv is constructing the Village. They described it as an "easy two days' journey from Lusaka". It is hoped that once the Zambia-Tanzania highway is completed next year, more Zambians will spend their holidays in Tanzania.
The Village is also expected to attract tourists from Europe and North America.
