    POLICE IN DAR ES SALAAM ARE INVESTIGATING REPORTS THAT 30 AFRICANS BOUND FOR TANZANIA FROM PEKING BEAT UP TWO PRESS PHOTOGRAPHERS AND STRUGGLED WITH ETHIOPIAN POLICE IN AN ADDIS ABABA HOTEL ON THURSDAY (NOVEMBER 3). THAT DAY, 30 AFRICANS ARGUED WITH POLICE AT ADDIS ABABA AIRPORT BEFORE BOARDING A FLIGHT TO DAR ES SALAAM. THEY WERE EN ROUTE FROM PEKING.

    SOME OF THE AFRICANS AT THE AIRPORT WORE BLUE BOILER SUITS AND CHINESE WORKERS' CAPS. REPORTS SAID THEY WORE MAO TSE TUNG BADGES.

    A SENIOR POLICE OFFICER SAID IN DAR ES SALAAM TODAY (SATURDAY) THAT ABOUT 30 MARINE POLICE ARRIVED THERE YESTERDAY FROM TRAINING IN THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA.

    HE THOUGHT IT UNLIKELY THEY WORE THE CLOTHES DESCRIBED, BUT THE MATTER WOULD BE LOOKED INTO.
