The meteorologists teletype at the Hydrometcentre of the USSR are never silent. Information about weather conditions gathers here from the whole planet. The People's economy can't do without weather forecast now. Everywhere, in the Arctics and the Antarctics, in the river basins and high in the mountains scientists-meteorologists are always on the watch. One of the thousands of meteo-stations is situated in the Pamir Mountains at the Fedohenko Glacier. The information about precipitation, about the direction of the wind, about sun radiation, about the movement of the Glacier is sent from here to the Big Land. In a few hours the weather forecast becomes known in all parts of the country. The heroic labour of Soviet weather-forecasters and scientists-meteorologists is highly valued by the Soviet government. The Hydrometcentre of the USSR is awarded the Order of Lenin. Polynsky, the first deputy chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers warmly and heartily congratulated the meteorologists with high award.
