    Bolivia's 1952 revolution caused a major change in the living habits of the Aymara people living in that country's high Andes. At the urging of the new government, the people left their mountain homes and moved to the capital, La Paz. But the majority of the people were unskilled and illiterate, and suddenly finding themselves thrust into ??? nigours of city life, could find no work to support themselves. They ??? porters, or the "Aparapita", as they are called in Spanish. Wearing traditional woollen caps they can be seen in the streets of La Paz carrying bundles of items ranging from foodstuffs to garbage.
