TRANSCRIPT SEQUENCE 5: MR. WILSON: "FIRST I SHOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE COME TO GIVE US SUCH A FRIENDLY RECEPTION ON THE RETURN TO 10, DOWNING STREET. I SHOULD LIKE TO SAY ON THIS ELECTION RESULT THAT THE DECISION OF THE COUNTRY TO GIVE THE GOVERNMENT A CLEAR MANDATE WILL, I BELIEVE, BE GOOD FOR GOVERNMENT IN BRITAIN AND GOOD FOR THE FUTURE OF BRITAIN...AND I BELIEVE ALSO THAT THE DECISIVE MANDATE THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO YOUR GOVERNMENT WILL ENABLE US TO SPEAK WITH GREATER AUTHORITY ABROAD IN ALL THAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO TO ACHIEVE INTERNATIONAL DISARMAMENT AND INTERNATIONAL PEACE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED."

TRANSCRIPT SEQUENCE 9: MR HEATH: "I BELIEVE THAT THE CAMPAIGN THAT'S BEEN FOUGHT WAS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. WE TRIED VERY FRANKLY TO POINT OUT THE TRUTH OF THE PRESENT SITUATION TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY. WE CONCENTRATED THROUGHOUT ON REAL AND SERIOUS ISSUES. WE DID NOT SUCCEED, IN THE TIME THAT WAS AVAILABLE TO US, IN CONVINCING THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY OF THE DANGERS THAT ARE FACING BRITAIN. WE DID NOT SUCCEED, IN THE TIME AVAILABLE, IN CONVINCING THEM OF THE URGENCY OF ELECTING A GOVERNMENT WITH THE DETERMINATION AND THE NECESSARY QUALITIES TO DEAL WITH THEM. WHAT I AM CONFIDENT OF IS THAT AS TIME PASSES SO THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY WILL REMEMBER WHAT WE HAVE SAID IN THIS ELECTION CAMPAIGN. AS AN OPPOSITION WE SHALL BE VIGOROUS AT THE SAME TIME IF THE GOVERNMENT DOES PERSUE POLICIES WHICH WE REGARD AS BEING IN THE NATIONAL INTEREST THEN OF COURSE WE SHALL SUPPORT THEM AND THEIR FAILURES WE SHALL OPPOSE RELENTLESSLY."
