Thousand attended the funeral of murdered former Argentine President Pedro Eugenio Aramburu when he was buried with full military honours in Buenos Aires on Sunday. Senor Aramburu's body was recovered last week from a makeshift grave where his killers had buried him almost seven weeks ago.
Five people have been arrested in connection with the murder of the President, who disappeared from his home in Buenos Aires seven weeks ago. His murder is believed to be the work of supporters of former President Peron, who took revenge on Senor Aramburu for allegedly ordering the execution of Peronists 14 years ago.
At Sunday's funeral, there were clashes between supporters of the two ex-Presidents, in which police had to intervene.
But thousands of other people walked through the streets in the rain behind the body in its coffin. Among those in the cortege were Aramburu's wife and Argentine President Levingston and government leaders.
Senor Aramburu was 65. He led Argentine for 30 months after President Paron had been deposed in 1955.
