    IN THE BRITISH PROTECTORATE OF BAHREIN IN THE ARABIAN GULF, THE ARAB STATES' 21ST CONFERENCE ON THE BOYCOTT OF ISRAEL, IS DISCUSSING ACTION TO BE TAKEN ON CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE EUROPEAN COMMON MARKET COUNTRIES AND ISRAEL.

    EIGHTEEN ARAB STATES ARE AT THE CONFERENCE, UNDER SAYID MOHAMMED MAHMOUD, THE CONFERENCE CHAIRMAN WHO IS ALSO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE ARAB BOYCOTT OFFICES.

    THE PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE THE 13 ARAB LEAGUE NATIONS AND FIVE PERSIAN GULF STATE -- BAHREIN, QATAR, DUBAI, SHARJAH AND ABU DHABI. ALL HAVE OPENED OFFICES AND ARE FOLLOWING THE BOYCOTT REGULATIONS, THE CHAIRMAN SAID.

    THE CONFERENCE WILL TAKE ACTION TO BLACKLIST COMPANIES WHO ARE DEFYING THE BOYCOTT RULES AND WILL DISCUSS ACTION AGAINST FILM COMPANIES AND ACTORS WHO ARE DOING SO, HE SAID.

    ALSO ON THE 80-ITEM AGENDA ARE THE REQUEST FROM COMPANIES TO BE REMOVED FROM THE BLACKLIST AFTER PRODUCING DOCUMENTS ON THEIR STATUS. THE CHAIRMAN SAID THE AMERICAN CHASE MANHATTAN BANK HAD SUBMITTED "LEGAL DOCUMENTS CLARIFYING ITS SITUATION IN RELATION TO ISRAEL." THEY HAD BEEN DISTRIBUTED TO BOYCOTT OFFICES IN THE ARAB STATES AND WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. IN DAMASCUS LAST JULY HE SAID THAT A BOYCOTT OF THE BANK WOULD COME INTO FORCE NEXT MONTH UNLESS IT GAVE UP ITS FUNCTION AS AGENT FOR ISRAEL'S BONDS.
