    Background: A United Nations "Dakota" flew from the Congo Republic to Usumbura, Ruanda-Urundi, Feb 10, with a British officer serving with the Nigerian Army, who was wounded recently at Manono airstrip, Congo Republic, when his unit was attacked by pro-Lumumba forces.

    He is Major David Frank Edge, aged 29 years. He had been in hospital at Kamina (former main base for the Belgian Air Force) and was flown to Usumbura on a stretcher to be transferred to an aircraft of Britain's Royal Air Force.

    He was then taken to Nairobi, Kenya, were doctors will examine him to see if he is fit enough to be flown to Britain. He was badly wounded in the attack.
