The Yugoslav Prime Minister, Mr. Dzemal Bijedic arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday (14 October) for high level talks.
It is the final leg of his five nation Asian tour. He previously visited Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Singapore, North Vietnam and China.
The talks were the second round of discussions opened in Yugoslavia between President Tito and Indian President Ali Ahmed during his state visit to Belgrade that ended on 4 October.
Subjects discussed included: the situation in South East Asia and China's attitude towards developments in the region.
Mr. Bijedic and Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Gandhi are to have talks on relations between their two countries and the overall international situation.
Yugoslavia is also anxious to expand trading relations with nations outside the Western industrialised countries. This is because the Government considers that an excessive reliance is placed on trade with the West.
Now, Yugoslavia is making an effort to break the trading pattern by seeking new outlets -- including India.
