    THE BELGIAN AMBASSADOR IN GHANA, MR. GEORGE BARTHELEMY, THIS WEEK (THURSDAY) PRESENTED FOOD AND BLANKETS TO THE GHANIAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO AID THE VICTIMS OF RECENT FLOODING IN THE COUNTRY. THE GIFTS WERE ACCEPTED IN A SMALL CEREMONY IN ACCRA BY THE GHANAIAN COMMISSIONER FOR LABOUR AND SOCIAL WELFARE, MR. S.T. NETTEY.

    MR. BARTHELEMY PRESENTED THE GIFTS ON BEHALF OF THE BELGIAN GOVERNMENT AND THE BELGIAN BRANCH OF CARITAS CATHOLICA, THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHARITABLE ORGANISATION.

    MR. BARTHELEMY TOLD NEWSMEN AFTER THE PRESENTATION THAT HIS GOVERNMENT WAS SYMPATHETIC TO GHANA'S PROBLEMS. HE SAID HE WAS SURE THE BELGIAN GOVERNMENT WOULD CONSIDER A REQUEST FROM THE GHANAIAN GOVERNMENT FOR MORE AID.
