SYNOPSIS: Toronto's fashion spotlight illuminates the first collection of coats and stroller suits for fall. They are by Norman Hartnell, the queen's dressmaker, and include a coat made for the queen mother------ also a stroller suit in balmoral green herringbone weave, with a Canadian-mink collar.
The collection reflects the tapered, relaxed look, the back interest, the huge fur collars and the short, short skirts. Black is still important, but there are many bright colors in the show.
Dresses designed by Canadian manufacturers are also shown -- -- a wool dress in pimento and green tartan, featuring the trumpet bubble-flounce.
This one's in black jersey, with a high gathered empire bodice and looped skirt.
And finally, a black shiffon, with jet embroidery and flounce skirt. The designer calls it "Gigi."
