    DR.RADHAKRISHNAN, THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA, BEGAN A FOUR-DAY STATE VISIT TO NEIGHBOURING NEPAL ON NOVEMBER 4TH.DURING THE VISIT, HE VISITED PATAN, AN ANCIENT CITY FAMED FOR ITS ARTS AND HANDICRAFTS.HE WAS GREETED BY A LARGE CROWD, IN THE CITY WHICH ALWAYS GIVES A CIVIC WELCOME TO FOREIGN DIGNITARIES.

    A LARGE NUMBER OF BUDDHISTS WERE IN THE CROWD WHICH GREETED DR.RADHAKRISHNAN IN TEMPLE SQUARE, SITUATED IN THE CENTRE OF PATAN.WITH HANDS HELD IN THE TRADITIONAL POSITION OF BLESSING, THE INDIAN PRESIDENT TOURED THROUGH THE CROWD IN A FLOWER-BEDECKED JEEP, AND LATER SPOKE TO THE PEOPLE.

    YESTERDAY (FRIDAY) DR.RADHAKRISHNAN WAS SEEN OFF FROM KATMANDU AIRPORT BY KING MAHENDRA WHEN HE LEFT FOR DELHI AT THE END OF THE STATE VISIT.

    THE VISIT OF THE INDIAN PRESIDENT RESULTED FROM AN INVITATION FROM KING MAHENDRA WHO PAID A STATE VISIT TO DELHI LAST SEPTEMBER.
